Mom 2 Mom sale Saturday at BFR

Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Mom to Mom sale, from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 10, at BFR, 215 Snider Road.

There is no vendor fee, but donations are welcome. Persons may register online and specify the number of tables you will bring (limit of 3 per vendor).

Blanchard and Sandusky River Watersheds announce photo contest

The Blanchard and Sandusky River Watersheds announce a photo contest open to residents and amateur photographers in the watersheds.

The contest runs now through July 31 and provides awards of first, second and third place, best of show and people’s choice. Categories are:
• River/water
• Landscapes
• Plants
• Wildlife
• River recreation

Here’s the monthly weather stats from Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer. The average March 2021 temperature was 43.5 degrees, while the normal average is 37.5 degrees.

The March high was 71 on March 24 and March 30. The low was 17 on March 2. The daily weather summary is attached below.

Beaver baseball player hit .522 on 12 hits, 8 RBIs and 5 runs

Graduate student Parker Reynolds (Avon) has been named the HCAC Hitter of the Week after a monster effort at the plate last week.

Reynolds led the Beavers to a 3-2 mark that included a sweep of rival Defiance College on Saturday.

He hit .522 with eight RBI, five runs scored and 12 hits. The fifth-year senior slugged .739 with two doubles and a homer. His OBP was .560 for the week. Reynolds had a great Good Friday, going 7-of-10 at Manchester.

Car fire at car wash

Bluffton fire department and EMS squads responded to a fire call on Saturday afternoon at the Bluffton Super Car Wash 313 State Route 103. The vehicle was inside the automatic wash stall. No one was injured in the fire and the Icon is waiting on additional details at this time. Photos by Ryan Canterbury, Slow Order Productions.
