University graduate programs named ‘Best in Ohio Business’

Bluffton University was recently recognized by “Ohio Business” magazine’s 2020 Best in Ohio Business Awards for Best Graduate School Program.

In its inaugural year, the Best in Ohio Business Awards featured Ohio businesses and non-profits in a range of categories from education to health care. According to its website, the awards served as a way to promote the state at a crucial time.  

Bluffton University offers graduate degrees in business administration, education and organizational management.

Pop-up shop returns to The Centre Saturday, Sept. 26

Nearly a dozen participants display products from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Bluffton "pop-up shop" returns to The Centre, 601 N. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26. 

"Your favorite direct sales companies are gathering together in one location to share products and services," said Cindy Luginbuhl, one of the event planners.

"Door prizes and some vendors will have samples to share. As a courtesy to all, we ask that you wear face coverings and practice social distancing during the event," she said.

ODOT announces construction on I-75 for week of Sept. 21

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect I-75 traffic patterns the week of Sept. 21.

• I-75 northbound entrance ramp at Beaverdam from SR 696 will close on Wednesday, Sept. 23, for approximately 14 days.

• I-75 northbound exit ramp at Beaverdam to SR 696 closed on Sept. 16 for approximately 14 days.

Bluffton grad new daytime crisis worker at Family Resource Center

Bluffton University 2013 graduate Darrelle Lloyd is the new Daytime Crisis Worker at Family Resource Center. 

She received her degree from Bluffton University in 2013. She worked at Mercy Health for several years as a Behavioral Access Clinician. She received her Associate's Degree in Human Services in 2010 with an emphasis in developmental disabilities. 

The Daytime Crisis Worker position was designed to respond on-site to schools and hospitals in Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties who have youth who are experiencing a crisis.

Bluffton council committee meetings set

The following meetings are announced for the Village of Bluffton. All meetings will be in the Village’s Town Hall, unless otherwise noted.
• Streets, Alleys, Lights & Sidewalk Committee – Tuesday, 9/22 at 7 p.m.
• Personnel Committee – Wednesday, 9/23 at noon via Zoom.
• Council Meeting – Monday, 9/28 at 7 p.m.
