Ohio Governor Mike DeWine provided the following COVID-19 updates.
PANDEMIC EBT PLAN:
Governor DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (OJFS) has received approval from the United States Department of Agriculture for its Pandemic EBT plan. The Pandemic EBT program was included in the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020.
Teacher Appreciation Week was May 4-8. In cooperation with the Bluffton PTO, the Icon is posting drawings of elementary teachers created by elementary students. Abram Steiner, second grader, created this drawing of his teacher, Mrs. Fry.

Ninth year of the project shows that bikers and pedestrian traffic is increasing in Bluffton

You will see many Bluffton residents parked in strategic locations around town this week with a notepad and pencil.
They are volunteers involved in a twice-a-year bike and pedestrian count in the village. Twenty-seven residents are involved in this week's count.
You’ll find them near the Lion’s Way path on Lake Street, on College Avenue near the Triplett Bike Path, at Main and Parkview, at Augsburger and Elm Street and a couple other locations in town.

Village of Bluffton clean up week is Monday to Thursday, May 18-21, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.
Dumpsters will be placed at the Bluffton recycle center on Spring Street during this period.
