Ted Yoder performs in town hall series on Saturday

Ted Yoder will perform in the next Town Hall Concert Series at 8 p.m., Saturday, July 13. The performance is in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St.

Yoder has played the dulcimer for decades and won America’s National Hammered Dulcimer Championship in 2010.

His performance style in popular songs including Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby,” and classics such as “Amazing Grace” and “The Little Drummer Boy.”

Family Promise golf scramble July 27 at Hidden Creek

Family Promise of Lima-Allen County will host a golf scramble Saturday, July 27, at Hidden Creek Golf Club, 6245 Sugar Creek Road, Lima.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the scramble start is at 9 a.m.

Cost is $75 per person or $300 for a team of four. Fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, catered lunch, goodie bag and prize opportunities.

All proceeds benefit Family Promise of Lima-Allen County, a shelter for homeless children and their families.

Celebration of the life of Dr. Shelly on Sunday

A celebration of the life of Dr. Howard M. Shelly, M.D., who died May 4, 2019,  takes place from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at The Centre, 601 N. Main St., Bluffton.

The evening’s activities includes signing a guest book. Making an audio recording of your favorite Dr. Shelly story, or bring a written memory. There will be three scheduled sessions of memory sharing and hymn singing.

Guests are invited to bring a pie to share with others.

Firecracker Friday Cookout at First National

First National Bank, 112 Cherry St., Bluffton, invites Icon viewers to its Firecracker Friday Cookout. The cookout is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, July 12, at the Bluffton branch parking lot

The event celebrates summer and the 4th of July and provides hot dogs, chips, drinks and addditional items.

Registration underway for three BFR sports camps in July

Basketball and volleyball

Bluffton Family Recreation offers three sports camps and clinics in July and sign-up is now underway, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

6-8 grade basketball camp
Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, July 15-16-17-18
1-3 p.m.
$20 members; $40 non-members

3-5 grade basketball camp
Monday-Tuesday, July 22-23
1-2 p.m.
$10 members; $20 non-members
