Thursday is the final day for the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool to be open. Hours are 2 to 6 p.m., and those hours depend upon the number of swimmers at the pool.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal on Wednesday Aug. 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.
The meal this month is provided by Siefker Family. The menu is hamburger gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cake and beverage.

Bluffton University football players returned to campus and are preparing for the 2019 gridiron season. On Thursday, Aug. 29, at 4 p.m., the Beavers host Ohio Northern University in a scrimmage. Bluffton's first home game is at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, vs. Trine of Indiana.

The Bluffton American Legion Post 382 donated over $8,100 to 20 different area non-profit organizations on Aug. 15.
The funds were generated from the Legion’s 10th annual charitable golf scramble.
Fred Arnold and Sam Reineke, chair of the golfing event, thanked all the sponsors and golfers for their generous donations. “Without these folks, we would not be able to support all these organizations,” they said.
Allen County Public Health will be hosting a special teen immunization clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 2 – 5 p.m. The clinic will be for pre-teens and teens entering grades 7 through 12 only. All required school vaccines will be offered as well as recommended vaccines.
Allen County Public Health follows the Centers for Disease Control Recommended Immunization Schedule for all Vaccines. ACPH participates in the Vaccine for Children, or VCF, Program. VCF-eligible youth will not be turned away due to inability to pay. Most private insurances also cover vaccines.
