Mr. Bluffton Farmers' Market

Mr. Bluffton Farmers' Market, Peter Previte, smiles at a customer during last Saturday's market. Over 25 vendors are now participating in the weekly Saturday market as local crops are in season. Bluffton's market is from 8:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday in the Citizens National Bank parking lot on South Main Street.

Tickets on sale for YFC chicken BBQ Aug. 22

Bluffton/Pandora Youth for Christ Campus Life will hold a chicken barbecue on the evening of the Bluffton - Pandora-Gilboa High School football scrimage.

The barbecue is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in The Campus Life Room, 111 W. College Ave., Bluffton. Tickets are $7.50 (includes chicken, green beans, potato, and roll) and tickets are now on sale through Aug. 18 at The Sports Warehouse in Bluffton and Riley Creek Pharmacy in Pandora.

Here's a team that could whip you - using their rules or perhaps your rules. It's a 1944 Triplett Corp. women's basketball team. This squad won its eighth consecutive win when this photo was taken. 

Click on the image for the identification of players. They are familiar names: including Basinger, Howe, Schmidt, Kohler and Montgomery.

Beavers named pre-season All-Ohio

BLUFFTON, Ohio - A trio of Bluffton University football players were recently named pre-season All-Ohio by OhioCollegeFootball.com. Senior Donovan Brown (Cincinnati/Purcell Marian) and juniors Ryan Aelker (Holgate/New Bavaria) and Austin Speice (Paulding/Wayne Trace) all garnered Second Team All-Ohio honors when the pre-season selections were announced. All three were Second Team All-HCAC honorees following the 2013 campaign.
