If your recyling is not yet picked up, don't fret. The truck is running late due to mechanical issues, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.

The countdown begins

There's no ball that drops in Bluffton on New Year's Eve. The closest we come is to keep an eye on any of the four faces of the town hall clock as the 12th hour of Dec. 31 strikes. You may also expect to hear the sound of several firecracker-type explosions heard across the community at that hour.

Your invitation to join Bluffton's oldest tradition

New Year's Eve caroling

The annual New Year's Eve caroling, featuring the traditional Swiss-German carols composed in this community, will start at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Augsburger Road, Bluffton.

Please note the earlier time this year. Music will be provided. Bring your friends and relatives to take part in this joyful tradition.

New Year's Eve this year will once again find the residents of Maple Crest Senior Living Village in Bluffton enjoying the long-standing tradition of New Year's serenading.
