Balanced Bluffton girls down Kenton

18 for Scoles, 17 for Monday, 9 each for Stackhouse and Garmatter

By Cort Reynolds
KENTON - The visiting Bluffton girls basketball team dominated the middle quarters and rallied to defeat Kenton 56-47 in a non-league battle Monday night.

The Lady Pirates trailed 19-13 after one period of play as the Wildcat girls drained three trifectas.

But Bluffton came back with a 15-8 second quarter to grab a 28-27 edge at halftime. The victors extended the margin to nine points heading to the final stanza with a 13-5 third period.

Christmas greetings from Ada to Bluffton

Here's the third in a series of Bluffton-Ada Icon Christmas picture exchanges.

Each day until Dec. 31 on Bluffton Icon we'll post a holiday lights photo from our neighbor community of Ada. And, as a small inset, you'll see the photo from Bluffton that is posted on Ada Icon.

Here's the third installment. The larger photos shows the holiday lights from The Mercantile on Main, a retail gift store in Ada. The inset shows a portion of the Faith Investment Services window at 101 N. Main, now posted on the Ada Icon.

We'd like to add one wish to this scene. That is the hope that next year we may all gather on Main Street and watch the lights turn on - no matter what the wind chill reads.

So, you think you know Bluffton?

So, you think you know Bluffton? Okay, where will you find this holiday window decoration? Answer tomorrow.

"I started teaching in Bluffton schools in 1951-52. I taught fourth grade and in my first class there were 41 children. The room I had in the old grade school had only windows in the back. With 41 children, the room was crammed full. The rest rooms were in the basement.
