Heidelberg falls to Bluffton 70-65

The Bluffton University women's basketball team welcomed Heidelberg University to Copeland Court on Nov. 26. Bluffton held off The Student Princes for a 70-65 victory.

Child Development Center holiday project

Collecting care package items for deployed service men and women; drop off items by Dec. 3

LIST OF SUGGESTED ITEMS TO DONATE IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY -

For the sixth year, Bluffton Child Development Center will participate in the Blaze of Lights parade and invites public participation.

"This holiday season, we will be collecting items to send care packages for the deployed men and women overseas," said Francine Donathan, Center director.

"We will be walking through the parade with shopping carts to collect donations. Items can also be dropped off at 325 County Line Road, Bluffton, Ohio 45817 by Tuesday, Dec. 3," she said.

Bluffton's Christmas Eve

Jocelyn Ochoa, Bluffton High School senior, is the winning artist in this year's annual holiday art contest conducted by Reichenbach and Steiner CPA and the Samuel W. Diller Agency. Jocelyn wins a $200 scholarship provided by the two downtown businesses. Click here to see the 13 holiday art works with the artists who participated in the competition.

Dennis Casper 1944 - 2019

Dennis M. Casper, 75, died on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at 7:10 p.m. at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

He was born on July 20, 1944, in Kenton to the late Alva E. and Elwanda J. (Candler) Casper. On Feb. 10, 2017, Dennis married JoAnna Keller and she survives in Bluffton.

Dennis was employed for several years at Ex-Cello Corp. in Lima.  He then worked as a machine operator at Rockwell International in Kenton where retired after 30 years.
