Infants in the mirror

It's fun to watch yourself in the mirror if you are an infant at Bluffton Child Development Center. But, if a photographer enters the room, suddenly you stop looking at yourself. Instead you focus on the photographer. The Icon took this photo earlier this week.

Pandora UM free community meal Dec. 16

The Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a free community meall on Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. The meal this month is provided by Hilty Home Pandora. The menu is BBQ ribs, parsley red potatoes, vegetable, strawberry shortcake and beverage.

McDonald's cookies that care returns to support local Ronald McDonald House Charities

During the month of December, McDonald's restaurants in Lima, Bluffton, Ada, Delphos, Van Wert, and Beaverdam will raise money in support of the local Ronald McDonald House Charities in Dayton through the Cookies That Care program. Customers may purchase three soft baked cookies for one dollar ($1.00), and McDonald's will donate ten cents of each purchase to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley Region. McDonald's will be offering a Sugar Cookie this year, in addition to the classic Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin.

Two December performances by Wendy Chappell-Dick and friends

Wendy Chappell-Dyck, along with several friends, will perform "Song of Forests and Thorns,"  twice this month.

Their performances are:

Monday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m., at  the Bluffton Public Library
• Saturday, Dec. 18, 9 to 11 p.m., at the Mustard Seed Cafe

Joing her are Teri Sato on bowed psaltry, Steve Harnish on recorder and Jan Wiebe on flute and vocal harmony. Chappell Dick will perform on chello and dulcimer.
