Traveling to the United States just got a little trickier.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently announced that all air passengers who hope to enter the US will have to get a negative COVID-19 test first. This new rule starts on Jan. 26.
This requirement comes as the nation is in another surge of cases and potentially more contagious variants of the virus are emerging around the world, the CDC noted.

Bluffton Family Recreation will host fourth, fifth and sixth grade boys' and girls' youth basketball tournaments this winter, according to Amy Byers, BFR sports coordinator.
Unlike past years, BFR is unable to rent the school for additional courts, so the tournaments are reformatted with all games at BFR.
The tournament will have a two-game guarantee. There will be two 10-minute halves with the clock stopping in the last minute of each half. Shooting fouls will be a point and a shot.

The Village of Bluffton is notifying its utility customers of a duplicate utility billing error.
"Recent upgrades to the billing software used by the village has resulted in certain accounts receiving duplicate bills due in February," Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, told the Icon.
"This issue is being resolved by our software provider. We apologize for this situation and appreciate your understanding as we work through this transition," he added.

Greg Denecker, Bluffton school superintendent, informed the Icon that the 1996 bond for the construction of Bluffton Middle School building will be paid off in December.
“Originally, the bond was approved to last until 2023, but due to refinancing in 2005 and 2014, we are paying off the building early at lower rates,” he said.
During the 2020 calendar year, the bond was taxing properties in the school district at 2.9 mills.
