Bluffton drops 5-4 decision against ‘Jackets

The Bluffton University men's soccer team welcomed HCAC foe Defiance College to the Sears Athletic Complex on a beautiful Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019. Despite a strong offensive presence, the Beavers dropped a 5-4 decision to the Yellow Jackets. Bluffton slipped to 5-7 (0-2 HCAC) on the season while Defiance improved to 7-5-1 (2-0 HCAC).

Bluffton women shutout Defiance

The Bluffton University women's soccer team traveled to HCAC rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Oct. 9, for a mid-week matchup against the Yellow Jackets. The Beavers secured a 2-0 shutout over rival Defiance. Bluffton improved to 4-7 (1-1 HCAC) on the season while Defiance dropped to 4-8-1 (0-2).

Less than five minutes into the match, junior Maddie Huffman (Maineville/Little Miami) netted her third goal of the season to give the Beavers an early 1-0 lead. A penalty kick by freshman Zoe Ryan (Pleasantville/Lancaster) secured the 2-0 Beaver shutout.

It's university homecoming weekend

Lots of family-friendly events on the schedule

It's homecoming weekend for Bluffton University. Here's the weekend schedule:

During halftime of the Bluffton vs. Rose Hulman football game on Saturday afteernoon is the coronation of the Homecoming king and queen, as well as an introduction of the Homecoming court.

Individual tickets to the Homecoming football game are $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens over 60 and $3 for children aged 5-13. Tickets for children under 5 are free. 

Pink and white Pirates

Bluffton HS student Brinkley Garmatter shows a Pink Out shirt to be worn during the BHS vs. Allen East football game Friday night. One-hundred forty shirts will be on the Bluffton side of the field tonight. BHS raised $1,600 with proceeds going to the Stephanie Spielman Comprehennsive Breast Cancer Center.
