Beaver's Aelker named finalist for Cliff Harris Award

The most decorated defensive player in the history of Bluffton University football, school history, Ryan Aelker, is a nominee for the third annual Cilff Harris Award.

The Little Rock Touchdown Club and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP announced the nominees this week.

Sandra Diller Rinnert was a Bluffton HS and Bluffton College graduate

Sandra Lee (Diller) Rinnert died on Dec. 14, 2015. The daughter of Silas and Ruth (Greding) Diller was born in Bluffton, Ohio, on Nov. 30, 1942.  She graduated from Bluffton High School and Bluffton College in Elementary Education.

Sandy taught elementary school for many years. She retired from Waterville Elementary in the Anthony Wayne School District in 200.

Bluffton HS sophomores will visit Apollo CC on Jan. 29

Approximately 650 sophomores in Apollo Career Center’s 11-member district will be visiting Apollo during 411Blast, Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.

Parents of sophomore students interested in attending Apollo for the 2016-17 school year are also invited to meet their student at Apollo.

This day is designed to expose students to career possibilities, and what paths are available that may lead to their career and/or college success.

Mustard Seed Cafe weekend features local musicians and more

Join Mustard Seed Cafe Friday, Dec. 18, from 9-11 p.m., for an “After Hours” holiday evening of half shells and hops.

Chesapeake oysters with craft beer pairings and craft flights are on the menu. Also featured are blue point oysters for the weekend.

"After Hours" takes place Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9-11 p.m. It features songs about wassail, wise men, and all the holy trees of the season.

Jeff Carroll, Angie Stokes and Jane Pahl are the November winners in the Bluffton downtown 3/50 Project drawing.

They win an assortment of prizes from participating businesses as a result of their entry forms being picked in a random drawing.

Bluffton’s 3/50 Project is part of a nationwide effort that carried the tagline: “Save your local economy three stores at a time.”
