ODOT ready for several inches of predicted snowfall

We anticipate this weather system to produce a consistent snowfall over a long period which will keep us on 12-hour shifts for an extended time

ODOT is preparing for what may be the most significant snowfall of the year which is expected to begin late Sunday or early Monday and continue into Tuesday.

"We anticipate this weather system to produce a consistent snowfall over a long period which will keep us on 12-hour shifts for an extended time," said Rod Nuveman, ODOT District 1 highway management administrator, based in Lima.

"We also expect reduced visibility. This snow is predicted to be dry so the accompanying winds of up to 25 miles per hour at times will factor in," he said.

Forgotten Bluffton: The story of the 1933 BHS addition

When opened, it attached to the original Bluffton HS building built in 1911

Depending upon when you attended Bluffton High School, the building on the corner of Main and College is either the “old” section or the “new” section. The dividing line between old and new falls in the mid-1980s.

In the 1980s, a building constructed in 1911 was razed and a new addition was built in its place. That new addition connects to another addition, constructed in 1933.

And, for decades and decades, we’ve never given much thought to what the 1933 addition meant to the community.

Prostate enlargement treatment

Most of us are familiar with Benjamin Franklin's quote from 1789; "nothing is certain except death and taxes." To the men reading this column, we will add a third certainty: PROSTATE ENLARGEMENT! As men grow older and wiser, the prostate tends to follow. That doesn't mean that every man will develop voiding symptoms.

The prostate is a small gland located at the bottom of the bladder. It makes up the beginning of the tube that drains the bladder (urethra). Its primary function is to produce fluids important for the viability of the sperm.
