Paula Pyzik Scott of Bluffton recently began operating her business, PS Editorial Services, to meet the needs of local individuals and businesses. Scott, who holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Michigan, specializes in light, medium, or heavy copy editing, web content management, compilation services, proofreading of final copy, and English as a Second Language (ESL) or American English services. She also possesses 19 years of editorial experience.

I think we are all hoping for some warmer weather and looking forward to spring! Delays and cancellations have wreaked havoc on many families' schedules, so the hope is that better weather is right around the corner.

University speaker: Church moderator relates to immigrants

She holds a doctorate in ministry, and a master’s degree in religion, but those weren’t the parts of her education that Dr. Elizabeth Soto Albrecht shared Feb. 4 at Bluffton University.

Instead, the moderator of Mennonite Church USA went back to elementary school in Chicago—where her family had moved from Puerto Rico—and what she called a “stolen” educational foundation.

Apollo Career Center Honors Graduates, Alumni and Citizens of the Year

TApollo Career Center will celebrate National Career Technical Education month starting with its annual All Area Boards meeting, Thursday, Feb. 6,  at 6 p.m. in the Apollo Commons.

Board members from Apollo’s 11-member schools and three County Educational Service Centers will be present, in addition to special guests.

Elizabeth Benjamin was born in Germany

 

Elizabeth K. Benjamin, 93, of Findlay died at 8:05 p.m. Feb. 4, 2014, at Richland Manor, Bluffton.  She was born Sept. 13, 1920 in Frankfort, Germany, to the late Karl and Elizabeth Baumann Lerch. On Aug.t 2, 1946, she married John Benjamin and he preceded her in death in June, 1985.

She was a homemaker and had graduated from business school in Frankfort.  She attended Trinity Baptist Church, Findlay.
