A steam locomotive returned to Bluffton this holiday season. It's doing "fast freight" figure eights in the window of Ryan DeMarco's Edward Jones office at 111 N. Main St. It's a Lionel O gauge carrying an oil car, two box cars and caboose. The loco appears to be a Mikado or Berkshire hybrid. John Bösiger was born in Alsace, France. When he was 23 a close friend, Johannes Steiner – both living in the community of Belfort, France – were conscripted into Napoleon’s army in 1815.

Not everyone gets to drive Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus around town. Jon Kinn, Bluffton fire chief, had that honor on Saturday. A new Blaze event included the Claus couple leading a nearly 90-participant caravan to view Bluffton's lights. For more details click here.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is exploring affiliations or partnerships with another long-term care organization with similar values and mission, according to Elizabeth Kelly, MHCO board chair.
