Easter Bunny comes to MMH on Saturday morning

The Easter Bunny visits Bluffton at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 19.
 
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Jerry Lewis’ McDonald’s host their annual Easter egg hunt at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton. 
 
The egg hunt will take place rain or shine. There is no rain date.  Children ages 8 and under are invited to hunt for hidden eggs, register for prizes, gift baskets and have their parents take their pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Tree Commission meets on March 15

The Village of Bluffton’s Tree Commission will be meet Tuesday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall, according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer.
 
 

St. Joseph dinner Friday night at Jeanne's Kitchen

Jeanne's Kitchen, Vine Street, Bluffton, will offer a traditional St. Joseph dinner, prepared by guest chef Peter, Friday, March 18.

The menu includes Italian appetizers, Itallian tossed salad, pasta, osso buco alla milanese, or baked fish Italian style, Italian roasted vegetables and a traditional pastry for dessert.

Dinner is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and reservations are appreciated. Call Jeanne at 419-234-8650 for a reservation.

Hannah Chappell-Dick earns the silver at DIII national meet

Bluffton High School graduate and Eastern Mennonite University senior, Hannah Chappell-Dick, saved her best for last.  Running in her final collegiate mile race Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Indoor National Championships, Chappell-Dick passed two runners over the final lap to pull away to her second straight silver-medal finish on the big stage.

Along with the second-place finish, Chappell-Dick broke her own EMU and ODAC records with a time of 4:54.32.

Order in the court

Magistrate Richard Warren (left) and Muncipal Court Judge David Rodabaugh share a joke during Friday's Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. Standing with them is Rodabaugh's wife, Chris. Magistrate Warren, former Common Pleas Court Judge, "re-sworn in" Judge Rodabaugh to his judgeship during the breakfast. Both men have strong Bluffton connections. The breakfast was one of the largest attended in the past eight months. Watch the video.
