Lots of BFR soccer planned for 2016

There's plenty of indoor and outdoor soccer action planned for youth through adults this year at Bluffton Family Recreation. Here's a sidelines photo of an Ottawa team in a Saturday morning indoor match.

480 EMS runs keeps Bluffton squad busy in 2015

Bluffton EMS had a busy year with 480 total runs, according to Jan Basinger, EMS director.
 
The squad had 459 calls with 353 of those of a medical nature. The majority of calls, 360, were within the village of Bluffton.
 
The squad had 339 transports with Bluffton Hospital as the destination on 164 calls, Lima Memorial with 81, St. Rita’s Medical Center 81 and Blanchard Valley Hospital 52. There were four life flights from the Bluffton airport.
 
July was the busiest month with 48 runs. August was the lightest month with 29 runs.

There's a new doctor in town: Dr. Robert Schutz, MD, joins Bluffton Women's Care

Robert Schutz, MD, has joined Bluffton Women’s Care, 559 Harmon Road, Bluffton, part of Blanchard Valley Medical Practices.

Dr. Schutz provides obstetrics and gynecological care, and is accepting new and existing patients. He is joined at Bluffton Women’s Care by his longtime associates certified nurse midwives Tonya Fenzl and Shirley Cole.

Nettie Ferrall funeral arrangement incomplete

Nettie Ferrall, 93, of Bluffton died Jan. 2, 2016, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
