Wildcats rain on Pirates parade with 50-7 win

The outcome of the Homecoming Football game matched the setting: cold, windy and miserable.  Delphos Jefferson made quick work of the Bluffton squad in a 50-7 dispatch to put a damper on the parade and attendant and escort festivities.  Jefferson improved to 5-1 with the win while Bluffton dropped its second straight contest and sits at 4-2.

BFR reminds members to keep their heart healthy

“A healthy heart is a happy heart.”

Bluffton Family Recreation wants to remind its members that walking is good for their health.

Fultz Sign Company recently installed the first of several messages on the BFR indoor track, reminding members that walking is good for you.

“The intention is to carry the good heart theme all the way around the track,” said Joseph Beagle, BFR director.

Members may contribute toward the goal of having the red “heart beat” continue around the track.

Fall planting sale underway at New Leaf

New Leaf Landscape and Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, has a fall planting sale underway.

Trick-or-treat at MMH on Oct. 29

The Village of Bluffton's trick-or-treat night is Thursday, Oct. 29. Hours are 6 to 7:30 p.m. In addition, the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., invites Halloweeners to its lobby from 6 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.

Several Bluffton council related meetings were announced at Monday's council meeting. These follow:

• Oct. 15 - Finance committee, town hall, noon
• Oct. 15 - Airport Commission, airport, 7 p.m.
• Oct. 15 - Shannon Cemetery Commission, town hall, 7:30 p.m.
• Oct. 19 - Fire station, space review by council, 7:30 p.m.
• Oct. 19 - Bluffton council, town hall, 8 p.m.
