Joanne and Leland Voth celebrate 70th wedding anniversary

Leland and Joanne (Buhler) Voth celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Sept. 2, 2020.  

They were married at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, in 1950, and have four children Nancy (Jerry) Suter of Pandora, David (Laura) Voth of Bluffton, Pam (Merlin) Shank of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Kevin (Sandra) Voth of Alpharetta, Georgia.

Rebekah Hoff's Future Shepherds 4-H awards

The Icon's listing of awards at the Allen County Fair did not include Rebekah Hoff's awards received from her two goats with the Future Shepherds 4-H Club. Those awards follow:

Champion - Market Goat Rate of Gain
1st place - Market Goat Meat Class (92 lbs. and above)
2nd place - Senior Goat Showmanship
3rd place - Market Goat Meat Class (84-86 lbs.)
5th place - Market Goat Rate of Gain (for her other goat)
6th place - Sr. Division of Livestock Judging

Amber Shough promoted at Citizens National Bank

Citizens National Bank  announce the promotion of Amber Shough to AVP Treasury Management this week.

In this position she is responsible for analyzing current and potential accounts for cash management improvements and recommending electronic bank products to increase efficiency for business customers.

Amy Yochum, Director of Treasury Management said, “Amber has been a great addition to our team. The customers rely on her knowledge and she makes things easy for them to understand. I’m proud of her advancement with the bank.”

Brauen's gourds open house Saturday and Sunday

Don and Jodi Brauen's fall gourd open house is this weekend. Located at 7140 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton, hours are:
• Saturday, Sept. 5
   9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday, Sept. 6
   Noon to 3 p.m.

They ask that shoppers please wear a mask.
