Looks like fun - and it is!

Students at Bluffton Child Development Center, 325 County Line Road, are smiling for a good reason this fall. The first installment of new playground equipment is up and in good use. BCDC has raised one-half of its $55,000 goal for new equipment. CLICK HERE for a letter to the editor, listing donors to date. Contributions to the playground fund may be sent to the Center.

Maple Grove Cemetery history walk this weekend

Where do we start? There's lots of events in October and November in Bluffton. Here's an update from the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Based upon this list, Bluffton's October goes out like a lion and November comes in like one.

CEMETERY HISTORY WALK
Maple Grove Cemetery history walks at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., Oct. 19 and 20, sponsored by the Bluffton Icon. Non-scary walks with donations going to the Bluffton Public Library. Openings remain in all four walks. Persons are invited to show up at a time that best suits.

Craft and vendor show Saturday at Pandora Missionary

A craft and vendor show takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at Pandora Missionary Church, 300 Rocket Ridge.

The event features family fun and Christmas shopping. Many vendors and crafters will attend. There will be face painting, hay rides, a bounce house and other activities.

Mansfield St. Peter's fall to Bluffton girls in tourney opener

Tuesday Pirates face Liberty Benton in Findlay

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton girls soccer team shut out Mansfield St. Peter's 3-0 in Div. III sectional final action Thursday evening.

The fifth-seeded Lady Pirates improved to 10-6-1 with the shutout victory. The seventh-seeded Lady Spartans ended their season with an identical 10-6-1 record after the defeat.

Pirate Laykin Garmatter started the scoring with a goal in the 18th minute. Bluffton extended its lead to 2-0 on a costly MSP own goal six minutes before intermission.

Volleyball: Bluffton's season ends in sectional finals

Stackhouse had 9 kills; Schwab compiled 9 kills and 7 digs; Scoles passed out 15 assists; Young hustled up 7 digs, Bricker added 1 ace

NEW KNOXVILLE - The Bluffton volleyball team lost to Marion Local in straight sets in Div. IV sectional final play Thursday night at New Knoxville.

Fifth seed Bluffton ended its season 12-12 after the 25-16, 25-14, 25-21 loss to the Flyers.

Third-seeded ML improved its record to 12-10 with the win, and advanced to the district semifinals. All four teams left are from the Midwest Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Kylie Stackhouse led the Lady Pirate offense with nine kills. Junior Taylor Schwab compiled seven kills and seven digs.

I-75 resurfacing project completed between Beaverdam and Lima

Interstate 75 between the Stewart Road overpass and Napoleon Road, between the city of Lima and the village of Beaverdam, is reopened to traffic following a resurfacing project.

Lane closures may be possible this week for finish work. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
