Upcoming village council meetings posted

Here's a list of upcoming public meetings for the Village of Bluffton, all held at town hall:

Cultural Affairs Committee – Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Streets, Alleys & Sidewalks Committee – Thursday, Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
Pathway Board – Thursday, Oct. 3 at noon
Tree Commission – Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
Council Meeting – Monday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.

It's Bluffton's Fall Festival weekend

Activities downtown, MMH, Maple Crest, Swiss homestead, Bluffton Hospital and (Friday night at BFR)

The Bluffton community’s 16th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

New this year, Bluffton Family Recreation will host a “Kickoff Event” on Friday, Sept. 27, beginning at 5 p.m.

Roughriders down Lady Pirate netters

ST. MARYS - The Bluffton girls tennis team went on the road Monday evening and lost to St. Marys, 4-1.

The Lady Pirate netters dropped to 9-7 with the defeat.

Senior Erin Hotmire posted the lone Bluffton win at first singles. She won 6-4, 6-3 over Allie Vanderhorst to improve to 15-3 this season.

Pirate junior Olivia Barnes lost a tough 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) match at second singles.

Bluffton juniors Pearl Lewandowski and Julia Smallcomb lost a three-set battle at first singles 5-7, 6-1, 6-0.

Taylor Schwab topped the Pirates with 14 kills and 13 digs

BLUFFTON - Visiting Lincolnview swept Bluffton in three close sets in a Northwest Conference volleyball match Tuesday night.

The 25-20, 25-22, 25-23 loss dropped the Lady Pirate record to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in NWC play. Lincolnview stayed unbeaten in the NWC at 4-0 and improved to 12-2 overall with the victory.

Taylor Schwab topped the Pirates with 14 kills and 13 digs, while Kylie Stackhouse added a dozen kills and two blocks.

Reagan Mittendorf started the scoring with a goal in the 20th minute

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton shut out Tiffin Columbian 4-0 in a girls soccer match Tuesday evening.

The Lady Pirates improved to 7-3-1 overall with the victory.

Reagan Mittendorf started the scoring with a goal in the 20th minute as the Pirates took a 1-0 lead in halftime.

Becca Hoff made it 2-0 with a score in the 59th minute. Sophia Smucker extended the lead to 3-0 by hitting the back of the net in the 63rd minute. Lauren Rhodes provided the final margin of victory three minutes later with the fourth goal.
