Two superiors, three excellents for Bluffton middle school students at state science fair

Five Bluffton Middle School students participated at the State Science Fair in Columbus on May 5. Two students earned superior ratings and three earned excellent ratings, Dave Bracy, science teacher, told The Icon.

Superior

Brielle Hamilton and Elizabeth Nisly earned a superior rating with Brielle also earning the Ohio University Physics and Astronomy Young Scientist Award worth $50.

Excellent
Earning Excellent awards was Sara Bertka, Joel Siefker, and Sam Crisp.

Brielle Hamilton - In volleyball, is the accuracy of the serve impacted by the shape of the hand on contact?

Elizabeth Nisly - Does the appearance of food affect our perception of its taste?

Sara Bertka - Do people tend to remember information better when it is given visually or orally?

Joel Siefker - Wind Turbine - Does the temperature affect how much energy a wind turbine makes?

Sam Crisp - Do football gloves enhance your ability to catch the football
