Bluffton girls nipped by Hornets in sectional thriller

Bluffton senior Laykin Garmatter led all scorers with 15 points in her final game

By Cort Reynolds
RAWSON - Bluffton lost a seesaw nailbiter at Cory-Rawson 36-35 in a Div. IV girls basketball sectional semifinal Wednesday night to end their season in heartbreaking fashion.

Hornet Libby McVetta sank a game-winning three-pointer from out top to foil the Lady Pirate comeback effort.

C-R ran out to an early five-point lead after a Zoe Chisholm corner triple. The hosts led the Pirate girls 7-2 after a very low-scoring first period of play.

Bluffton stormed back with a 16-point second stanza to grab an 18-15 intermssion lead.

Bluffton HS winter update

Many activities underway as student continue to excel

By Mike Minnig, High School principal
This is from the winter school newsletter
It hardly seems possible that we have reached the halfway mark of the 2020-2021 school year, especially due to all the changes this pandemic has caused.

Even through all this, I am constantly amazed by the talented work ethic that our students, teachers, and staff possess. Throughout the year, our students have been excelling in a variety of ways including academics, music, athletics, and leadership skills.
