FOSTORIA - The Bluffton girls tennis team lost a close 3-2 match at Fostoria Monday evening.
The Lady Pirates won the two doubles matches, but dropped all three singles bouts to fall to 2-5 this season.
Juniors Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel won at first doubles by a 7-5, 6-2 score. Freshmen Caitlyn Couch and Brooke Camper combined to win at second doubles 6-4, 6-1.

By Cort Reynolds BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton boys soccer team stomped Spencerville 10-0 in the Northwest Conference opener Monday night.
The Pirates improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the shutout victory. The Bearcats fell to 1-1 and 0-1 in the league with the lopsided loss.
Senior Jonathan Schriner tallied three goals and dished out an assist to pace the Pirate attack. He scored in the eighth, 29th and 39th minutes.
Setter Skyler Scoles dished out 26 assists and served a pair of aces. Kylie Monday mustered up 10 digs.

Pirate volleyball swept by Elida By Cort Reynolds
ELIDA - The visiting Bluffton volleyball team lost in straight sets to Elida at their fieldhouse Monday night.
Bluffton fell by a close 25-22, 25-21, 25-19 count to drop to 2-1. It was their third straight non-league road match to open the season.
Junior Kylie Stackhouse led the victors with 17 kills and two blocks. Meanwhile Taylor Schwab contributed five kills, 13 digs and an ace.
Setter Skyler Scoles dished out 26 assists and served a pair of aces. Kylie Monday mustered up 10 digs.
