Lettering workshop at the library on Aug. 26

The library is offering a Lettering workshop on Monday, Aug. 26 from 6-7 p.m., which allows participants to learn more about the art of hand lettering. This workshop is for ages 12 and above, and although the event is free, the library requests you register.

Bluffton's water: where does it come from and where does it go?

The library is hosting an information session on Bluffton's Water at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29 in the lower level meeting room. Wessler Engineering and the Village of Bluffton are co-presenting this session. Please register at the library at 419-358-5016.

A heavy late afternoon thunderstorm has cancelled the Mennonite Memorial Home's concert on the lawn, planned for this evening, Sunday, Aug. 18. There is no reschedule date.

Convocation to welcome new students into the academic community at Bluffton University

Dr. Beth Taylor Mack, director for health behavior and wellness for YMCA of the USA, will be the featured speaker at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, in Sommer Center for Health and Fitness Education as Bluffton University welcomes the class of 2023 during its Opening Convocation.

Taylor Mack will share “The Power of Relationships: How Connectivity Impacts Well-Being,” which directly ties into this year’s summer reading for first-year students, “The Geography of Bliss.”

An Ada gridiron celeration

New features added to Made in Ada Football Festival on Aug. 24

A demonstration of how NFL footballs are produced and an exhibit from the home of professional football are among new features that have been added to the Made in Ada Football Festival, which will be held Aug. 24.

Among new highlights that promise to be fan favorites are the “Wilson Experience,” which demonstrates the process of how footballs are made and an exhibit by the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame.
