Mary Ann Sullivan guest speaker at ArtSpace/Lima soup and salad lectureship

 

ArtSpace/Lima announces the second in its fall series of Soup and Salad Lectures, Industry in Art, in connection with the Industrial Ohio exhibit now in the Ellen Nelson Gallery.

The speaker will be Dr. Mary Ann Sullivan, a frequent lecturer for ArtSpace. Dr. Sullivan is Professor Emerita of Art History at Bluffton University. She maintains a website of more than 19,000 original images of architecture and sculpture from sites around the world, including many of recent buildings by signature architects:  http://www.bluffton.edu/~sullivanm/

The lecture on  Wednesday, Nov. 7, will focus on 19th and 20th century artists who have given responses in art to industrial reality, including Diego Rivera (the monumental frescos in Detroit), Charles Sheeler, and others.
