They aren't Baby Boomers - they are 8th graders in 1945-46

These are Baby Boomers. They Bluffton eighth graders are children of the Great Depression. Born in the early 1930s, they were in the eighth grade when this photo was taken in the 1945-46 school year.

They are members of the Bluffton High School graduating class of 1950, so they started their adult lives at the mid-point of the 20th century.

Two woodpeckers walk into a bar...

You've probably not heard the joke about the two woodpeckers who walked into a bar. (As far as we know there is no such joke.)

But, now you can say that you've watched the photos of two hairy woodpeckers who landed on the Icon's suet bird feeder moments apart.

There's no such thing as sharing in this case. It was sort of territorial where winner takes all. The photos tell the story best.

Simply scroll down to watch. This episode occurs daily at the same suet bar. A couple squirrels, a sparrow and nuthatch tried mediate, but don't mess with hairy woodpeckers.

Here's members of the Bluffton High School class of 1950 as eighth graders. The photos is from the 1945-46 Buccaneer.

This students aren't "Baby Boomers." Instead, they were born in 1932-33-34 era and are children of the Great Depression. As high school graduates in 1950 they saw the 20th century at its mid-point.

Dr. Jed Marquart named interim director of Ohio Space Grant Consortium  

Bluffton resident, Dr. Jed Marquart, Ohio Northern University professor of mechanical engineering, has been named interim director of the Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) by The Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI).

The OSGC is a NASA-sponsored collaborative of 26 Ohio higher education institutions.

The Bluffton Exempted Village Board of Education has rescheduled the February Board Meeting for Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bluffton Elementary Media
