Benroth Bridge gets an fix up thanks to Misha Groman's Eagle Scout project

Bluffton Eagle Scout candidate Misha Groman is currently leading his Eagle Scout project at the Benroth Bridge located over Marsh Run near the Buckeye.

He has already had a few work sessions, including one eariler this week when he re-stained and sealed the bridge.

His next work session will be on Saturday. So far, much of the bridge has been power-washed. Graffiti has already been removed. 

In addition, the weeds have been pulled from the stones in the waterway between the Benroth Bridge and the red bridge north to the north.

Another Bluffton weekend with lots of activities

Looks like another fun weekend with plenty of activities planned in Bluffton.

Here's a capsule of events:

Friday

Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Harlan’s chicken barbecue from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Friday, in the BFR parking lot.

The barbecue is a fundraiser for the BFR turf project for the gym and arena. Tickets are $10 each. Each meal includes one-half chicken, potato salad, green beans and a roll.

McDaniel takes over Bluffton softball program

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University has named Marissa McDaniel as its head softball coach.

McDaniel, formerly an assistant coach at Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, replaces Heather Bruder, who resigned after nine years at Bluffton.

“I am very excited to start my journey at Bluffton,” McDaniel said. “I plan to continue the winning tradition here and to prepare the student-athletes for their future after their four years of softball.”

Seniors to guide men's soccer in 2015

HCAC Coaches Poll

BLUFFTON, Ohio - A solid finish to the 2014 men’s soccer campaign along with the addition of a full-time head coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs has given new life to soccer at Bluffton University. The Beavers took advantage of their stout defense down the stretch, allowing just 12 goals in Heartland Conference play while finishing 3-6 in the HCAC.
