Hey, is that a Chevy Nomad? I thought those were extinct: Wheels comes to Bluffton June 14

Muscle cars, heavy chrome, wide whitewalls, running boards… maybe, even Phil Weisenbarger's classic Franklin. Sounds like a convergence of classic automobiles. Right you are.

On Friday, June 14, Main Street Bluffton will be the scene of the 46th annual Bluffton Festival of Wheels Cruise-In. It is a program of the Bluffton Lions Club and should be a couple hundred museum pieces on wheels to Bluffton.

Here’s what you need to know:
• The event is on Main Street and College Avenue
• Registration is from 2-5 p.m.
• Jeff Houston DJ ‘50s music from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• Judging of cars begins at 5 p.m.
• Trophies are awarded at 7:30 p.m.
• Cruise down Main Street begins at 8 p.m.

Car owners who pre-register for the show by May 31 pay $8. The registration fee after May 31 is $10. A registration form is an attachment at the bottom of this story.

The event also features the Pumpkin Vine Railroad (it was at the arts and crafts show), which is a kid’s train ride.

The Bluffton Lions Foundation will offer raffle tickets for the 2013 Charity Corvette Raffle.

This year’s Corvette is a 1995 torch red two-door coupe with 70,000 miles on it.  Raffle tickets are $2 each or three for $5. The drawing for the car is noon, Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Bluffton Farmers’ Market. Persons do not need to be present to win.
