Pirates hand Riverdale its 2nd loss of the season

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton boys soccer team overcame an early deficit to defeat rival Riverdale 4-2 Thursday night at Steinmetz Field.

Bluffton improved to 11-0-1 with the hard-fought victory. Riverdale dropped to 8-2-1 with the tough defeat.

Falcon Jackson Clark scored first in just the second minute of play to put Riverdale ahead 1-0. 

But Bluffton came right back to tie it 1-1 on a goal by Kaden Basil in the fifth minute.

Girls' soccer team on 8-game winning streak

UPPER SANDUSKY - The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team whipped Upper Sandusky 4-1 Thursday evening in a non-league game.

Red-hot Bluffton improved to 9-2-1 overall with their eighth consecutive win. US fell to 2-9-1 with the defeat.

Reagan Mittendorf, Sami Scoles, Laykin Garmatter and Lauren Rhodes each scored one goal for the victors.

Mittendorf, Makayla Schweingruber and Rebekah Hoff each passed out one assist.

Ball carried by Shutler on the play

The Shutler brothers are getting their share of "ball carried by Shutler on the play" from the Harmon Field pressbox this fall. Frequent ball carriers for the Bluffton High School Pirates football team, Tyson, jersey 1, is a senior, and Landon, jersey 3, is a sophomore. GROB hosts apprenticeship webinar Oct. 2

Airs on MFG Day 2020

GROB’s apprenticeship team will host a live webinar from 1 to  2:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2, for persons interested in learning more about GROB Systems and its apprenticeship program.

The webinar airs on MFG Day 2020(Manufacturing Day 2020).

The event will be recorded for those unable to attend the event live. Registration is required to watch live or receive the recording.

It features a presentation about the company and program, Q&A session with GROB’s apprenticeship team, and a video tour of GROB’s 400,000 square foot facility given by current apprentices.

Drive-thru pick up

English Lutheran Church host tonight's community meal

Community meals returned to Bluffton today – under a new format.

In a drive-thru format, the first community meal since this past winter, sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association and the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, will take place.

It is hosted by English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., and the drive-thru pick up takes place in the church Jackson Street parking lot beginning at 6 p.m.

A donation bucket will be available with the proceeds going to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program food pantry.

NW Physical Therapy offers free "ask a therapist" appointments in October

Northwest Physical Therapy offers free "Ask a Therapist" appointments during  October. 

The appointments are available at all four outpatient locations in Bluffton, Delphos, Ottawa and Lima. Bluffton’s office is located in the Bluffton Family Recreation building at 215 Snider Road.

An "Ask a Therapist" appointment takes approximately 10-15 minutes and will be performed by a licensed clinician. These free appointments help identify issues that may be causing unnecessary pain.
