Meet the new employees of Bluffton schools

Ten new staff persons have joined the Bluffton schools this school year. Here is information about those persons, from the recently released school newsletter to the community.

Kyle Leatherman – Middle School Principal
Kyle Leatherman, the middle school principal and director of transportation, spent the past six years at Gibsonburg where he taught business and technology to students in grades 7-12 and was the head softball coach and webmaster.

He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Heidelberg University. He has since earned his Educational Administration license from the University of Findlay. Kyle and his wife, Jill, have two children. Kooper is 3 and daughter Macy is 16 months.

Lauren Moser – Middle School Teacher
Lauren teaches 7th-grade science and one section each of 6th-grade science and language arts. She has also assumed the position of the middle school cheerleading coach.  Previously she taught 6th-grade science and coached in Jackson, Tenn., for two years before returning to her hometown of Findlay. She lives in Findlay with her husband, Greg.  Lauren graduated from the University of Findlay in 2009 with a BS in Middle Childhood Education. 

Todd Boblitt- High School Teacher
Todd Boblitt comes to Bluffton after spending the previous 14 years teaching mathematics in the Findlay City School District. He was assistant basketball coach from 1999-2006 at Findlay High School before taking the reigns as the head coach at Bluffton High School.  Heis a 1999 graduate of Bluffton University; his wife, Becky, a 1994 BHS graduate and a 1998 Bluffton University graduate, teaches 5th grade in the McComb Local School District.  Todd and Becky reside in Bluffton and have three children: Trey, a fourth grader; Terron, a first grader; and Charlize, a pre-schooler.

Kyle Cutnaw – Health and Physical Education Teacher
Kyle Cutnaw teaches Health and Physical Education at the junior high and high school. His wife, Mandy, teaches 2nd grade in the Wapakoneta City Schools. Kyle graduated from Amherst Steele High School in Lorain, in 1999. In 2003 he graduated from Bluffton College after student teaching at both Bluffton elementary and BHS. He earned his Master's Degree from Otterbein College in 2009. Kyle has taught at Streetsboro City Schools, New Riegel Local Schools, Edgerton Local Schools, and Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools. He spent four years as a full-time college football coach at Otterbein College and Kenyon College.

Bryant Miller – High School Teacher
Bryant Miller lives in Bluffton with his wife, Kim, and children Max, 3, and Mikah, 10 months. Bryant graduated from the University of Findlay where he received both his BA and M.Ed. In addition to teaching high school history, he is also a varsity assistant football coach at BHS. Previously, he taught and coached at Perry Schools and has been the Dean of Students and a coach at Celina High School. Since 2010, Bryant has served in full-time ministry in the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton.

Ashley Fry – Elementary Teacher
Ashley Fry joins the second-grade team and the Bluffton staff. She and her husband, Jeremy, have lived in Bluffton since 2006. Their son, Elijah, just turned one. Ashley earned her BS from Ohio Northern University and her Master’s from the University of Dayton. Before coming to Bluffton, Ashley taught 2nd grade at Allen East for seven years.

Jaime Neff – Elementary Teacher
Jaime Neff is a graduate of Houston High School and received her BS in Education from Bluffton University in 2013. JShe recently married Rob Neff, a graduate of BHS and Bluffton University.While in college she tutored Bluffton elementary and middle school students.

Cindy Sommers - Educational Aide
Cindy, who previously worked at the high school cafeteria for seven years, has two daughters: Jene`, a junior at Bluffton University and Adel, a junior at BHS. Cindy is a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church and has worked with the youth in the church.

Shaun Kopp – Custodian
Shaun, a 1988 Bluffton High School graduate, lives outside Ottawa for the past 20 years. He has two children: a daughter who is a senior at the University of Connecticut and a son who is a senior at Ada High School. He has been a substitute custodian for Bluffton Schools for the past three years.

Beth Ackerman – Educational Aide and Ohio Reads Coordinator
Beth Ackerman is a graduate of Elida High School, where she participated in band, basketball, and softball. She is married to Chris Ackerman and they have two children: Cierra – 5th grade and Braeden – 3rd grade. Currently she is vice president of the Bluffton Boosters.  For the past four years, she has been aiding/assisting the elementary teachers with tutoring, test-taking, and various other tasks.
