Kibbee's Carryout now under 3rd generation of ownership

Mason Klingler and Chloe Blackburn say, "Come up the hill"

Bluffton's most popular business not in Bluffton, Kibbee’s Carryout, 140 County Road 313, today became a third-generation business.

Mason Klingler and Chloe Blackburn, took over ownership from Mason’s parents, Anita and Ron Klingler of Ada.

Anita said that her mother Barbara Hopson, owned Kibbee’s for seven years, and she and Ron have owned it for the past 27 years.

Mason is a 2017 Ada High School grad, and Chloe a 2018 Cory-Rawson grad, and currently is a student at the University of Toledo majoring in marketing.

Doty's Auto Repair remains open during Jefferson Street work

Doty's Auto Repair and Wheel Alignment, LLC, 180 E. Jefferson St., continues to be open and serve its customers during the Jefferson Street project, according to Mike Doty, owner.

"Customers can easily acces our shop by using the alley on East Elm Street," said Doty.

Jefferson Street is open only to local traffic while Phase II of the street reconstruction is underway, so Doty's front entrance on Jefferson Streetmay be times unavailable to customers.

The work begins

Jefferson Street Phase II is well underway. Here workers install sanitary and storm sewer piping on the railroad side of the project. The work is projected to continue through June. Doty Auto and Wheel Repair Alignment, 180 E. Jefferson St., continues to be open during the street work. Customers may use the alley on East Elm Street to travel to the shop, said Mike Doty, owner.

Where was the first school building? What became of it? The answers may surprise you

We naturally take for granted that there was always a school system in our community.

But, have you ever wondered how it was first organized? Where were the buildings? What became of them? How did we end with two buildings, now an elementary and middle school on Jackson Street and a high school on Jackson and College Avenue.

We’ll provide the long answer to these questions, and it will take several columns to complete  the story.

Icon: You graduated from Bluffton in 2019. What have you been doing since then?
Since graduating in 2019, I attend Ohio University where I am pursuing a BS in Media Arts Productions. I was sent home for online school last March and plan to move back into Athens on May 9 (finally).
