Paul Shilling, Rawson, was a life-long carpenter

Paul Richard Shilling, 94, of Rawson died at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at his residence. He was born on June 18, 1920 in Van Buren Township to the late George and Catherine (Hannewald) Shilling. He married Harriette E. Fett on Jan. 27, 1946 and she survives.

He is also survived by three children: Burnette Paul (Cathy) Shilling of rural Bluffton, Diane Marie Myers of New London and Barry Wayne (Karen) Shilling of Elida; four grandchildren: Brianne Bowling, Brandon Shilling, Geoffrey Shilling and Michael Myers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Harriette Shilling; a son, Dean Richard Shilling; two grandsons: Steve Myers and Chad Myers; two brothers: Lester and Raymond Shilling and a sister, Catherine Rauch.

Mr. Shilling was a life-long carpenter. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Rawson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1,  at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2,  at the funeral home with visitation one hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service.

Pastor Raymond Daniel will officiate and burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Van Buren Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the church and/or the
