State Rep. Cupp appointed to four House committees

Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has appointed State Representative Bob Cupp (R-Lima) to serve on several standing House committees for the 131stGeneral Assembly, including the House Finance Committee, and the chair of its Primary & Secondary Education Subcommittee.
Rep. Cupp has also been appointed to serve on the Judiciary Committee, which focuses on legislation related to criminal and civil justice issues and the judiciary; the Public Utilities Committee, which focuses on electric, gas, and other utility issues; and the Education Committee, which is tasked with vetting legislation that affects Ohio’s students and schools.

“As a new member of the Ohio House, I appreciate these appointments. Service on these committees will enable me to focus my efforts on issues that matter the most: quality education and a skilled workforce, job creation, and safe communities,” said Rep. Cupp.

Rep. Cupp is serving his first term as state representative but was a member of the Ohio Senate from 1985 to 2000, and served as Senate President Pro Tempore from 1997 to 2000.  A former Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio, he has the distinction of being the only former judge currently serving in the state legislature. Rep. Cupp has also served as Lima City Prosecutor and Allen County Commissioner, and is a lifelong Allen County resident. He represents the 4th Ohio House District, which includes all of Allen County.
