Duck races and lots more at Saturday's Riley Creek Fest'

Bluffton University will host the annual Riley Creek Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Sommer Center.

Open to the public, the event is free except for lunch, which costs $9 for community members.

The festival will feature family-friendly inflatables, a balloon artist, music, games and other activities, concluding with the traditional rubber duck race on Riley Creek. Rubber ducks will be sold for $1 each, with proceeds to benefit the Allen County Humane Society. Duck race winners will receive prizes donated by local businesses.

Bluffton's new downtown mascot

The Icon reports several viewers have sighted a ring-neck pheasant in the downtown Bluffton area.

Pandora UM offers free community meal April 29

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal on Wednesday, April 29 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. The meal this month is provided by Wednesday Witness Group. The menu will be sausage (hot dogs for kids) sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, roll, jello salad, dessert and beverage.

Darnell Boddie (Professor Harold Hill) gets into an interest song fest with several River City women including: Amy Warren, Megan Sycks, Kristen Yost, Marley Runk, Sara Bertka,  Emily Swisher, Karis Wilson and Alyssa Casemier. This rehearsal photo, taken last week, shows one of the scenes of this weekend's BHS musical "The Music Man." Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 10-11 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 12, at 2 p.m.
