Bluffton HS softball team lost its first Northwest Conference game of the season at Ada in a 2 to 3 battle.
Offensively the Lady Pirates seemed to have things going their way with a solid 14 hits and 1 walk to lead the team to the bases.
Unfortunately only 2 girls crossed home and 13 were left stranded. Taylor Monday led the team at the plate going 4 for 4 with 4 singles and 1 run scored.
Katie Prater had solid hitting with 2 singles and 1 double and 1 run scored. Jazmynn Wilson was strong swinging with 3 singles and 1 RBI.
Averey Rumer blasted a double and had a sacrifice bunt. Sami Fruchey hit a sacrifice fly deep to center field which gained her 1 RBI. Abbie Parkins, Aimee Ritter and Alivia Koenig all hit singles and Alivia added a walk from Ada's pitcher.
Defensively The Lady Pirates allowed 10 hits but were able to hold a solid Ada team to only 3 runs. Sami Fruchey pitched a complete game and struck out 7 of the Bulldogs and had 2 assists.
Taylor Monday had 5 putouts, Abbie Parkins had 2 putouts and 3 assists, Jazmynn Wilson had 1 putout, Katie Prater had 8 putouts, Averey Rumer had 1 assist and outfielders Alivia Koenig and Aimee Ritter each had 1 putout.
