Pirate boys' capture NWC track and field title; girls' 3rd

Trevor Bassitt sets two meet records

After finishing second three years in a row, Bluffton High School boys’ track team captured the Northwest Conference track and field trophy this past weekend at Bluffton University. It was the first NWC title for the boys since 2011.

It was Bluffton's 19th overall NWC title.

The BHS girls’ team finished a respectful third place. The girls’ team has not finished lower than third in the conference meet since 2010.

The boys’ won eight first places and Trevor Bassitt, senior, set two conference records. The girls’ won two first places.
