Bluffton food pantry low on supplies

Here's a list of needed items; take donations to St. John's UCC

The Bluffton Area Food Pantry has distributed food and other essential supplies to approximately 50 area families this summer.

The pantry’s supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Here is a list of items the food pantry welcomes as donations:
Personal items:  lotions, creams, hair care products, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, bath soaps, soft soaps
• Paper items:  paper towels, toilet paper, tissue paper, napkins
• Breakfast cereals
• Instant oatmeals
• Macaroni and cheese
• Chunky soups – Progresso, Campbells
• Spaghettios and similar canned foods
• Canned peaches
• Canned pears
• Canned mandarin oranges
• Canned fruit cocktail
• Canned meats, including tuna, chicken, beef, and pork
• Hamburger and tuna helper
• Crackers              
• Cookies
• Spaghetti noodles and Spaghetti sauce
• Baked Beans
• Peanut butter
• Rice
• Noodles
• Crackers
• Cookies
• Cake mixes
• Jello
• Jello pudding
• Tortillas and salsa
• NO canned green beans, corn, or peas are needed at this time.

“The pantry is grateful to the Bluffton community and churches for being willing to pitch in and help out when help is needed,” said Yeager.
