Janette says: "Fear no art!"

"You find a side of yourself that you didn't know existed"

Registration underway for Sept. 28 art class at Bluffton Public Library

Are you afraid of creating art?

If so, Janette Reineke offers assistance with her “Fear No Art” lesson. It’s at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Bluffton Public Library.

The retired Bluffton art teacher will lead a lesson from her book “Fear No Art! The Sept. 28 class features a Georgia O’Keefe flower-painting project for participants.

“No one is too old to be creative in the arts, but when people hear the words ‘art class’ they are immediately intimidated,” she said, adding someone once told her, “I can’t even draw a straight line.”

Reineke’s challenge to people who claim to be fearful of art is this: “You’ll find a side of yourself that you didn’t know existed.”

After a career teaching pre-school, kindergarten, first grade, elementary and junior high art in public schools Reineke spent the most recent 16 years providing art classes in area retirement communities including Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio.

About the class
The class is for person 18 and up. Space is limited and registration ends on Monday, Sept. 25. The cost of the class is $10 cash payable at the door. Art supplies are provided.
