Mikesell, Probst promoted on EMS

Village prepares for Feb. 22 West Elm Street meeting

Nicki Mikesell and Levi Probst received promotions in the Bluffton EMS squad this month. Bluffton council approved Mikesell and Probst promotions to lieutenants upon the recommendation of Jan Basinger, EMS chief.

In addition, two persons completed EMT training and were approved for placement on activity duty on EMS. The two newest members are Olivia Sneary and Emily Buckell. They were both approved as probationary EMTs for the six-month period beginning in June.

Council accepted the resignation of Phil Meyer from the Bluffton fire department. He was a member for several years.

The above actions took place at the Feb. 12 Bluffton council meeting.  Prior to the 7 p.m. Feb. 12 session, council met for 30 minutes “as a whole” to review capital improvements along West Elm Street between Spring and Bentley Road.

A summary of that meeting follows taken from Street and Alley Committee minutes: (for the complete minutes open the attachment below)
