Robert "Bob" Badertscher was retired from Cooper Tire

Was a veteran of the Korean War

Robert "Bob" E. Badertscher, 88, died Jan. 20, 2019, at his residence. Bob was born March 30, 1930, in Bluffton to the late Milton and Edith (Kunzler) Badertscher. On June 27, 1959, he married Lena Preto Badertscher who preceded him in death on April 26, 2017.

Bob retired from Cooper Tire in Findlay.  He enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, doing puzzles and was well-known for his long walks all around Bluffton and greeting folks. He was a veteran of the U.S Army serving during the Korean War. 

Survivors include two sons, Robert Badertscher of Amado, Arizona, Rodney (Paula Pride) Badertscher of Bluffton; six grandchildren, Jeremiah, Adam, Amber, Lauren, Ryan and Ashley; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth (Alphie) Keller of Dayton.

Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Badertscher Jr. and a sister, Mary Franklin.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Irving Ross officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
