Senior Center’s OVAL classes begin in late March

These are the first four programs on this spring’s OVAL classes at Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.

OVAL stands for “Our Version of Adult Learning” program, hosted by the Senior Center after Bluffton University stopped holding adult learning classes in 2018.

Tonya Meyer, association director, announced OVAL’s weekly schedule of programs for the coming months.
Here’s the schedule:

• Thursday, March 26 – 10 a.m. – Fran Core presents “Around the Tip of South America,”
• Thursday, April 9 – 10 a.m. – Adrianna Wise presents “Donate Life at any age,”
• Thursday, April 16 – 10 a.m. – Sarah Rise from Allen County Historical Society presents “What is it? Tidbits of history,”
• Thursday, April 20 – 10 a.m. – Ann Stratton presents “Little known facts of the Civil War,”
• Monday, April 30 – 1 p.m. – Tonya Meyer shows the movie “Harriet” showcasing the life of Harriet Tubman.
• Monday, May 4 – 10 a.m. – Carolyn Rich presents “Nepal, it’s people and culture”
• Thursday, May 14 – 9:30 a.m. – H.W. Enderle presents “Mental Math”

History talks at Maple Crest
On the second Monday of every month at 2 p.m., the senior center offers history talks on a variety of subjects. This month’s topic is the Underground Railroad on Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest. See below pdf for upcoming dates and topics.
