2020: hot year politically and a year to forget on a social level

But, weather-wise it was pretty ho-hum

Although 2020 will be remembered as a hot year politically, and by many as a year to forget socially, weather-wise, the year appeared rather ho-hum. 

2020 wasn’t really record-setting:
not too hot,
not too cold,
not too much rain,
nor too much snow.

Here’s the 2020 weather summary, provided by Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

• The average maximum temperature was 61.8 degrees
• The average minimum temperature was 41.9 degrees
• The average temperature was 52.4 degrees
   The 70-plus year normal temperature yearly average is 50.1 degrees
• The high temperature reading was 95 degrees
   On July 6
• The low temperature reading was 6 degrees
   On Feb. 13 and 14
• Precipitation total was 35.64 inches
   Normal annual precipitation 37.05 inches
• Snow total was 29.0 inches

Coldest year:  2014 at 38.3 average low degrees
Highest recorded temperature: 102 degrees in 2102
