Youthful Pirates lose to MC in baseball

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton baseball team lost 16-1 to Miller City Friday evening in non-conference action.

Youthful Bluffton dropped to 0-11 with the defeat. MC improved its record to 8-2 with the victory. 

The Pirates scored their lone run in the bottom of the first, but MC had already tallied four runs. They added five runs in each of the third and fourth frames, plus two more in the fifth.

MC banged out four triples and three doubles among their 15 hits in the run-rule shortened, five-inning game.

Braeden Jordan singled, stole a base and scored the lone Pirate run in the first inning. Adam Friedritz singled for the other Bluffton hit. G. Bogart drove in the Pirate run.

The Pirates return to league play Monday, April 19 at home vs. Paulding (8-4, 2-1 NWC). The Panthers whipped Columbus Grove 9-2 last Thursday.

BRYAN VS. BLUFFTON IN TENNIS

BRYAN - The visiting Bluffton boys tennis team lost 5-0 at Bryan Saturday. 

Bluffton dropped to 2-3 with the defeat, 

Bluffton is scheduled to host Kenton (3-6) Monday, April 19.
