Logan Nussbaum obituary

Goshen, IN–Logan Ian Nussbaum, 18, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022.

He was born November 10, 2003 in Kettering, Ohio to Rick and Aphaphanh (Sengsy) Nussbaum. He lived most of his life in Bluffton, Ohio and moved to Goshen, Indiana in 2018.

They survive along with a sister, Sydney Elyse; grandmothers, Dolores Nussbaum, Kidron, Ohio and Chanthy Sengsy, Fairborn, Ohio; a grandfather, Perry (Patra) Sengsy, Troy, Ohio; and his girlfriend Maria Banderas. Logan will be missed by Rudy, the family Golden Doodle, who frequently slept in his bed.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, James Nussbaum.

A 2022 graduate of Bethany Christian Schools, Logan began working for the Meijer Distribution Facility in Middlebury, Indiana. He had an interest in getting into construction and real estate.

He enjoyed connecting with friends and was always there when they needed him. During his school years he participated in soccer, swimming and briefly with football, wrestling, baseball and basketball. He loved the water, highlighted by many memories at Warren Dunes and trips to the ocean were also special. He valued attending family events and gatherings.

From an early age, Logan showed interest in cooking. This summer, he hosted friends and grilled carne asada. He was welcoming to all and often made his home the gathering place for activity. He was known for his ability to interact with people from different stages in life and possessed a well-developed sense of empathy for others.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 23, 2022, one hour prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral service, all at East Goshen Mennonite Church, 2019 E Lincoln Ave., Goshen. Pastors Naomi Yoder and Merle Hostetler will officiate.

Following the service cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Camp Friedenswald, 15406 Watercress Way, Cassopolis, MI 49031, or to the family in care of Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 South Main St., Goshen, IN 46526 to assist with final expenses.
