BHS girls soccer advances to district semis

The top-seeded Bluffton High School girls soccer team beat local rival Cory-Rawson 5-1 this past Thursday, October 20, in their Div. III sectional final at home.

The Pirate girls (15-2) will host fifth-seeded Mansfield Christian (9-8-2) in the district semifinals Tuesday, October 25 at Steinmetz Field. The game starts at 7:15 p.m.

MC knocked off Milan Edison 5-3 Thursday in their sectional final.

The winner will advance to the district finals Saturday, October 29 at Bluffton against either second seed Van Buren (12-4-2) or third seed Riverdale (10-5-2). Match start time is 6 p.m.

The Falcon girls beat Huron 7-0, and then eliminated tough sixth seed Allen East 3-0 to reach the districts. 

The Black Knights had a first round bye and then eliminated Upper Sandusky, 4-1.

Bluffton beat VB 2-1 at home September 1, but lost 1-0 to visiting Riverdale 1-0 Sept. 10. That was their last loss. 

Since then, the Pirate girls have won nine matches in a row.
