Pirate softball blanked by Bath

BATH __ The Bluffton High School softball team lost 23-0 at Bath in a non-conference game Friday evening, May 3.

The Pirate girls dropped to 1-11 overall after the loss. 

Bath improved to 10-10 overall with the victory. The hosts slugged three home runs and two doubles in the win.

The Wildcats plated 11 runs in the top of the first to take a big early lead.

The hosts added seven runs in the third, and four more in the fourth.

Bath out-hit Bluffton, 17-4. The Pirates committed nine errors that led to 13 unearned runs.  

Ashley Fleece, Olivia Hobensack, Danielle Cross and Reis Thompson each hit a single for the Pirates.

Haelee Rayle pitched four innings for the Pirates. She gave up 17 hits and 10 earned runs. She walked three and struck out one.
