Bluffton Public Library

The boad of trustees of Bluffton Public Library has announced its meeting schedle for 2021.

Meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Board Room at 145 S. Main St., Bluffton, or virtually as needed.  No meetings will take place in July or December.

 Board members are Elizabeth Hostetler, president; Bob Beer, vice president; Carrie Phillips, secretary; Amy Lehman Mikesell, Robert Scott, Emily VonStein, and Nancy Yeager. 

 Board meetings are open to the public.

Public Library program at 6:30 p.m. presented by Fred and Rudi Steiner

Icon viewers are invited to a Bluffton Public Library Zoom presentation at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, to hear some of the stories published in “Bluffton Anthology – A Creek Runs Through It” essays on a small Ohio town collected by Fred Steiner.

Steiner and his brother, Rudi, will talk about how the book was created. To watch the program email the library for a login at: [email protected] anytime between now and 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Subscription service sign-up underway; program begins in January

The Bluffton Public Library announces a new program, The Book Bag - A Library Subscription Service, according to Jessica Hermiller, library administrator. 

"The program allows community members to request a monthly-themed or specially-curated bag of items from the library collection along with an activity," she said.

"The Book Bag checks out for four weeks, with new bags being automatically prepared for pickup the next month.  

Registration for The Book Bag begins today, Dec. 14, with the program starting January 2021.

The library has one for preschoolers through third graders starting today

Adopt a winter book buddy program begins today at the Bluffton Public Library.

Here's how it works. Children in preschool through third grade should ask an adult in the family to sign them up. Hurry - it's all while supplies last.

Each book buddy participant receives a:
• Book buddy stuffed animal
• Adoption certificate
• Reading log
• Other surprises.

Parents and caregivers can schedule a Curbside Pickup time to collect the winter book buddy.
