University asks groups not to congregate on campus

In light of the governor’s order to “stay at home,” the increasing number of    COVID-19 cases in Ohio and our desire to keep the Bluffton village community safe, the administration at Bluffton University is asking the general public to not congregate in groups on campus grounds while social distancing is being mandated.

For example, we have been made aware that groups of young people are gathering to play pickup games of soccer and flag football on campus.

University education majors to serve as Bluffton Study Buddies

Will provide academic help and educational games/activities through the Zoom videoconferencing platform beginning March 18

The Bluffton University education department is offering free online educational enrichment in response to K-12 school closures in Ohio.

Bluffton Study Buddies, Bluffton University education majors including student teachers, will provide academic help and educational games/activities through the Zoom videoconferencing platform beginning Wednesday, March 18.

Bluffton runner named NCAA D III all-region

Sophomore Brandon James  (Waynesfield/ Waynesfield-Goshen) capped off his 2020 Indoor Track and Field season by being named NCAA Division III All-Region on Monday, March 9. To secure all-region honors, an athlete must be in the top five in the region for his or her event.

James finished fifth in the Great Lakes Region in the heptathlon with a score of 4,292. He put up that score at the All-Ohio meet where he was victorious while establishing a new school record in the process. James had lifetime bests in six out of the seven heptathlon events at the All-Ohio competition.

The following events are no longer open to the public at Bluffton University.

• Preventative Self-Care: How to Live Your Best Life Colloquium, March 20

• University Chorale and Camerata Spring Choral Concert, March 22

• Civic Engagement Day Forum, March 24

• Junior Recital/Chamber Ensemble Concert, March 29

• The Quest for Health at the Cost of Healthy Forum, March 31

Bluffton University addresses COVID-19

Beginning on March 16 through April 13 academic coursework will take place in an online format and/or remote options

gatherings (any group of
20 or more) and public
events until April 13

Bluffton University, in alignment with Governor Mike DeWine’s recommendations made yesterday, has established the following plan to protect its students, employees, visitors and the Bluffton community. 

2 Bluffton University players all-HCAC

A pair of familiar faces from Bluffton were recognized when the Heartland Conference handed out its post-season hardware on Thursday, March 5. Senior Tj Mills (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and sophomore Brianna Gillig (New Riegel) both netted Second Team All-HCAC honors following the 2019-20 season.
